Here are some other highlights worth mentioning!
TENNIS
Sophomore Avery Allan finished 1st in WPIAL 2A, Section 5 Singles and 2nd in WPIAL 2A Girls’ Tennis Singles Championships. She advances to the PIAA 2A State Singles Championships in Hershey on 10/31-11/1.
QVHS Doubles teams of Kate Miller / Jane Lenhard and Livia Jobbins / Grace Jadlowiec finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the WPIAL 2A, Section 5 Doubles Championships. Both teams advanced to the WPIAL 2A Girls Tennis Doubles Tournament on 10/1-10/2. Jobbins / Jadlowiec lost in round 2; Miller / Lenhard lost in the semi-final round. In the third place consolation round, Miller / Lenhard lost and just missed a trip to Hershey.
The QVHS Girls Tennis team captured the MAC Championship on 9/5 at Beaver Area HS / Blackhawk HS.
The QVHS Girls Tennis team got a 1st round bye in the WPIAL 2A Team Championships. In round 2, they defeated Mt. Pleasant, 4-1, in a home match. In the team semis, QV played Oakland Catholic at North Allegheny HS. The team then faced North Catholic at the Janet L. Swanson Tennis Center at W&J in the WPIAL 2A Girls’ Tennis Team Championship on 10/15/25. The Lady Quakers brought home the win with a 3-2 victory over NC!!
The first round of the PIAA 2A Team Tennis Playoffs occur on Tuesday, 10/21. The Quakers play Elk County Catholic School at 1PM at the Glen Creek Tennis Club.

GOLF
Senior Makenna Kamnikar finished 5th in WPIAL 2A, Section 9 Individual Girls Golf Championships and 7th in WPIAL 2A Individual Girls Golf Championships. Makenna will be competing in the PIAA 2A Individual Girls Golf State Championships at PSU on 10/21.
The following QV golfers competed in the WPIAL 2A, Section 9 Boys Individual Championships and qualified for the WPIAL 2A Boys Individual Golf Championships: Will Newlin, Joseph Kamnikar, Ty Stofko, Addy Davis, and Ryan Dusch. Only Addy qualified for the final round of the WPIAL 2A Boys Golf Individual Championships. She finished 43rd and was the only female to make it to the final round!!
At the Girls’ MAC Golf Tournament on 9/11, sophomore Addy Davis earned FIRST PLACE with a score of 69 and senior, Makenna Kamnikar earned THIRD PLACE with a score of 73 in a field of 40 AAA and AA girls!
XC
On 10/8, the QVHS Varsity and JV Boys XC teams placed 1st at the MAC Championships! Jonah Montagnese won the varsity boys race; Gavin Kahrs won the JV boys race!! QVHS Varsity Girls team placed 3rd.
Junior, Jonah Montagnese, also finished first at the PIAA Foundation Cross Country Invitational and MAC Championships.
SOCCER
Both QVHS Soccer teams earned first round home playoff games.
The boys beat Highlands 5-1 on Monday, 10/20. They advance to the second round of the WPIAL 2A Boys’ Soccer Playoffs on Thursday, 10/22.
The girls host Southmoreland on Tuesday, 10/21, at 6PM.
VOLLEYBALL
The QV girls volleyball team earned the #15 seed in the WPIAL 2A Girls’ Volleyball Playoffs. After winning a nail-biter against Keystone Oaks at OLSH HS on Monday 10/20, the Quakers advanced to play Waynesburg Central on Tuesday 10/21. QV’s 3-0 loss to Waynesburg Central ended their great season.
